Why am I seeing a black screen when mirroring content to my receiver with AirParrot 3 on my PC?

Seeing a black screen on the receiver screen when mirroring content with AirParrot 3 typically occurs due to an issue with the video drivers on the computer. Below are some steps to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Update your video drivers on the PC

Downloading and using a tool such as Intel's Driver and Support Assistant will allow your PC to automatically search for a video driver update to install on the PC.

Please note that all video driver updates will require the Windows PC to be restarted for the update to be properly installed.

Step 2: Check to see if you have multiple video drivers installed on the PC

An easy way to view your video drivers on the PC is through the dxdiag menu. To open the dxdiag menu on the PC, please open your Start menu and type dxdiag into the Run box. This will open a diagnostic window on your computer. This will allow you to see the System, Display, and Sound tabs for your PC's information.

If you see multiple Display tabs, then that indicates you may have multiple video drivers installed on the PC.

If you find that you have multiple display drivers installed on the PC, you will need to ensure they are all up-to-date with the latest driver version available.

Step 3: Check to see if you have a discrete display driver installed on the PC

Even if you are seeing a single display driver tab in the dxdiag menu on the PC, that doesn't necessarily mean there is only one display driver installed. To see if you have a discrete display driver installed on the PC, please press the Windows key on this computer and type devmgmt.msc, then press enter. This will open the device manager on your PC where you can expand the Display Adapters section to see if there is a discrete display driver installed.

If you find you have a discrete display driver installed on the PC, most typically installed through another application, you may need to remove it to prevent interference while mirroring with AirParrot 3.

Step 4: Factory reset your receiver device

In some instances, after performing troubleshooting for the drivers on the PC the black screen issue may still occur while mirroring. Factory resetting the receiver may help with the issue to ensure there is nothing corrupted in the current firmware/OS installation on the receiver.
