It's always a good idea to check whether or not you're running the latest version of the Ditto applications. Outdated software can cause issues or render some devices incompatible. To check for updates within the Ditto applications you can follow the steps below.
- Ditto Connect for Mac
- Ditto Connect for Windows
- Ditto Android Receiver
- Ditto tvOS Receiver
- Ditto Windows Receiver
Ditto Connect for Mac:
To update the installable Ditto Connect application on a Mac, launch Ditto and in the top-left corner of your screen, next to the Apple logo, click "Ditto". From this menu click "Check for updates".
Ditto Connect for Windows:
To update the installable Ditto Connect application on a Windows computer, open the Ditto Connect application and right-click within the application window. In the menu that appears, click "About Ditto".
In this window, click "Check For Updates".
Since the temporary Ditto Connect application is installed each time you use it, there is no need to check for updates. Each installation is the latest version of the application.
Ditto Android Receiver:
Automatic updates
The easiest way to stay up to date with the Ditto Android Receiver application on an Android device is to configure your apps to update automatically.
Step 1
Open the Google Play Store on the Android device.
Step 2
Navigate to the Google Play Store settings. Depending on your device, this may be located under "My Apps" > "Open settings" or under your profile icon > "Settings."
Step 3
Select "Auto-update apps" and make sure automatic updates are enabled.
Note: Menu names and locations may vary slightly depending on the Android device or version.
Manual updates
Step 1
Open the Google Play Store on the Android device.
Step 2
Search for "Ditto Receiver."
Step 3
If an update is available, select "Update" to install the latest version. If you do not see an Update option, the Ditto Android Receiver application is already up to date.
Ditto tvOS Receiver:
Automatic updates
The easiest way to stay up to date with the Ditto tvOS Receiver application on the Apple TV is to configure your apps to update automatically. This should be set by default. However, you can check this by doing the following:
Step 1
Open the Settings app on the Apple TV
Step 2
Scroll down and select "Apps"
Step 3
If "Automatically Update Apps" is not turned on, switch this from Off to On.
Manual updates
Step 1
Open the App Store on the Apple TV. It is the icon in the shape of an "A."
Step 2
Search for "Ditto Receiver" in the search bar.
Step 3
If an update is available, you'll see a white box that says "Update". Click this to update.
Ditto Windows Receiver:
Step 1
Open the Ditto Windows Receiver application and click the gear icon.
Step 2
In the menu that appears, click "Check for updates..."
