How to Screen Mirror an iPad

This guide explains how to screen mirror an iPad to Reflector 4 on a Mac or Windows computer.

Use these steps to screen mirror an iPad that is capable of running iPadOS 27, iPadOS 26 or iPadOS 18, including iPad (7th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later). The same steps also work on iPad (6th generation), iPad Pro 10.5-inch and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation) running iPadOS 17.

Using an older iPad that supports AirPlay mirroring? Note that you may need to swipe up to access Control Center in Step 3 instead of swiping down.

The screen mirroring process is the same across these versions of iPadOS. Follow the steps below to connect your iPad to Reflector using AirPlay.

Step 1 — Download and open Reflector

Download Reflector on your Mac or Windows computer

Step 2 — Connect to network

Make sure the iPad and your computer are connected to the same wifi network.

Step 3 —  Open Control Center

Swipe down from the top right corner of the iPad screen to reveal the Control Center.

Step 4 – Select Screen Mirroring

Select the Screen Mirroring option. It’s the icon with two overlapping rectangles.

Step 5 – Select Reflector

Select your Reflector-enabled Mac or Windows computer from the list of available AirPlay receivers.

Note for Mac users: If you are trying to connect to Reflector on Mac, you may see your Mac listed twice. One is for Reflector. The other is macOS's built-in AirPlay Receiver. Be sure to select the Reflector option. To avoid confusion or issues, you can turn off the built-in receiver in System Settings > General > AirDrop & Handoff > AirPlay Receiver.

Step 6 – Begin Mirroring

Approve permissions if prompted.

Your iPad is now sharing wirelessly to your Mac or Windows computer.
