Unable to connect an iPhone or iPad to a Ditto receiver
If your iPhone or iPad is unable to connect to a Ditto receiver, use the troubleshooting steps below to check the receiver configuration, device permissions, and network connection.
Note:
Ditto Connect for iPhone and iPad is compatible with the Ditto tvOS Receiver app on Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K, as well as the Ditto Android Receiver app and Ditto Windows Receiver app.
Apple TV 2 and Apple TV 3 cannot run the Ditto receiver application. To connect to these legacy devices, use the native Screen Mirroring feature on your iPhone or iPad instead of Ditto Connect.
1. Check the receiver
- Make sure the receiver device is powered on and connected to the network.
- Confirm that the Ditto receiver application is open and running.
- Make sure the receiver appears as Online in the Ditto Account Portal.
- Confirm that the receiver is linked to the correct Ditto room in the Ditto Account Portal.
- Make sure screen mirroring is enabled for the room and receiver.
- Check for available updates to the Ditto receiver application.
2. Check the iPhone or iPad
- Make sure the device is running a supported version of iOS or iPadOS. Install any available operating system updates.
- Make sure the latest version of the Ditto Connect for iOS application is installed and running.
- Confirm that Ditto Connect has permission to access devices on the local network:
- Open the Settings application.
- Select Privacy & Security.
- Select Local Network.
- Make sure access is enabled for Ditto Connect.
- Enter the room code exactly as it appears on the Ditto receiver display. Check the code for typos.
- Completely close and reopen Ditto Connect before attempting to connect again.
3. Check the network
- Make sure the iPhone or iPad can communicate with the receiver over the local network.
- The devices do not necessarily need to be on the same subnet or VLAN, but network communication must be allowed between them.
- Make sure TCP ports 55200–55205 are accessible between the iPhone or iPad and the receiver.
- Check for guest-network isolation, client isolation or VLAN rules that may prevent devices from communicating with each other.
- Temporarily disconnect from any active VPN and try connecting again.
- Make sure the network is configured according to the Ditto network/technical requirements.
4. If you are still unable to connect
- Restart the iPhone or iPad and the Ditto receiver.
- Try connecting from another supported iPhone or iPad, if available. This can help determine whether the issue is limited to one device.
- Try connecting to another Ditto room. This can help determine whether the issue is limited to one receiver.
- Gather the Ditto Connect log IDs and contact the Ditto support team for additional assistance.
